Exam Format – USMLE Step 3:
- Duration: 2 days
- Day 1 – Foundations of Independent Practice (FIP):
- Approximately 232 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
- Focuses on basic medical and scientific principles, including biostatistics, ethics, and patient safety

- Day 2 – Advanced Clinical Medicine (ACM):
- Approximately 180 MCQs
- 13 computer-based case simulations (CCS) assessing clinical decision-making and patient management in real-time scenarios

Exam Timing:
- Step 3 is available year-round but must be taken at a U.S. testing center.
- It is recommended to complete Step 2 CK before scheduling Step 3.
Admission Process:
- Register through the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB).
- Provide proof of successful completion of Step 1, Step 2 CK, OET and ECFMG certification.
- Once registered, you will receive a scheduling permit, which allows you to book your exam date.
- Take the exam at a U.S. testing center (note that there are no centers in Bangladesh).
